    Somalia: Cabinet Discusses Draft Bills of National Priorities

    MOGADISHU (Somali Update Online) — Somalia Cabinet of Ministers on Monday held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the pending draft bills for the national priorities to accelerate the government's delivery capacity to the citizens.

MOGADISHU (Somali Update Online) — Somalia Cabinet of Ministers on Monday held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the pending draft bills for the national priorities to accelerate the government's delivery capacity to the citizens.
According to a cabinet statement released at the end of meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Guled (Khadar) who chaired the cabinet ministers presented 19 pending draft bills currently under review to be passed by the Parliament.
The cabinet statement noted that there are ongoing efforts to seek public consultation made by numerous ministers to get public input into the ongoing draft bills.
During the cabinet meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the hastening the implementation of the government plans and priorities so as the ministries can deliver better services to the public.
Among the bills currently pending for parliament approval are; Draft National Communication Bill, Anti-Corruption Bill, Counter-terrorism Bill, Naturalization Bill, Truth and Reconciliation Bill, Local Governments Bill, Anti-Rape Bill, People with Special Needs Bill, Sea Resources Bill, Sea Bill, Fishing and Sea Resources Bill, Energy Bill, Relief Organizations Bill, Agricultural Bill and Religious Muftis Bill.
