MOGADISHU (Somali Update Online) — Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Sunday vowed to eradicate corruption and widespread injustices within government offices, making new promise for the people of Somalia, as the President marks his 100-Days in office.

Mr. Farmajo, elected in February defeating former Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has linked the terrorism menace that ravaged the horn of African nation to the corruption and lack of social justice in Somalia.
The President and his Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, together with government ministers and officials celebrated with thousands of women and men from Mogadishu's neighborhoods attended the public rally at Banadir Football Stadium on Sunday as the President directly addressed the people.
"Corruption is the main cause of terrorism. While people cannot find their rights, when they are marginalized, they are forced to seek alternatives to get their rights." he said admitting that rampant corruption with government institutions made the rise of terrorism groups in Somalia.
He praised his Prime Minister Mr. Hassain Ali Khaire as capable and better than him.
WARNING TO COURTS
He also acknowledged the wide spread complaints of the public over injustices that marred the country's judicial system and gave a stern warning over their conduct.
"To the court system and judges; if you do not change your behavior of injustices, you will end in jail." he said attracting major applause from the public.
He said his government will deal with issues on courts and judiciary within the coming three months.
During his speech, Mr. Farmajo reiterated how vital the national unity is for the existence of the republic and the people, saying that a united Somalia will compete with the world and the region and will also serve for the restoration of the dignity of the citizens.
Thousands of people gathered to listen to the President's 100 Days speech in Mogadishu on Sunday.
AL-SHABAB CALL
President Farmajo once again called the al-qaeda-linked militant group Al-Shabab to renounce violence and meaningless killings and join the peace process, failing to do so, the President warned that there will not be an option rather than using full force to eliminate them.
"We first say to them 'you are our brothers and sons, leave the violence and return to your people". Should you not follow that way, we will deal with you harshly" he said.
The President gave his full support to the ongoing stabilization operation in the capital, which he said was very key government perspective to secure the country's capital.
"If this city becomes safer, then world business companies will come and dare to invest." he added.
The public rally on Sunday was the first in its kind to demonstrate the government's achievement despite critics lessened the key points the President and his administration could present as their case of achievement in the very short period in office.
