The match was played on an artificial Turf built for the country by the world football’s ruling body [FIFA], Gendarmerie FC won the Supper Cup match after defeating ASAS Djibouti Telecom 7-0 on Friday in what was seen as a significant step taken towards the spreading of the country’s football into more destinations.
The match attracted thousands of spectators including the minister for youth and sports Hassan Mohamed Kamil, telecommunications minister, Abdi Sougueh, Secretary of decentralization, Aramis Youssouf, minister of commerce and industries, Hassan Houmed and several regional governors.
Djiboutian Football Federation president, Souleiman Hassan Waberi, who talked to the media, said that shifting the supper cup to a different destination was part of his federation’s policy to spread football into every single territory in the country.
