New Zealand and West Indies are ready to face each other for one last time in this tour. The second test will be played here at Basin Reserve in Wellington. New Zealand are already 1-0 up in the series and are surely the favorites. They will miss their captain Kane Williamson who is unavailable for this game but they have many experienced ones in the line-up. Opener Tom Latham played out the tough new ball period which helped the middle order to build on to pile up a big total in the last match. NZ will also hope Ross Taylor gets a big score this time around. They probably have one of the best attacks for their home conditions. With Trent Boult and Tim Southee sharing the new ball, they seem to destroy any batting line-up in these conditions.
Meanwhile, West Indies are still looking for their first win of the tour. Not many things have gone in their favor in this trip and despite winning the important toss in the last game, they lost the match by an innings. They have a talented batting order but they need to take more responsibility against a quality opposition. Kraigg Brathwaite needs to resist the new ball spell so that Darren Bravo and Roston Chase can build onto that. The absence of Dowrich will be a big blow to WI but they have skipper Jason Holder to contribute runs down the order. Jermaine Blackwood’s century was a bright spot for WI from the last game. Bowling looks thin and Shannon Gabriel will have to bring on all his experience in the absence of Roach.
