The England Cricket Board has announced that Rajasthan Royals player Jofra Archer will not be playing in the IPL this season. Jofra Archer has been named in the Rajasthan Royals squad for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Archer, 26, is staying in the UK with an elbow injury. He was expected to join the finals Rajasthan team even though he missed the matches at the start of the IPL season. However, the England Cricket Board officially announced yesterday that Archer will not be playing in the IPL season. This ensures that he will not come to India for IPL matches.
Archer, who is recovering from injury, will join the Sussex squad for training next week and is expected to return to cricket in 2 weeks if he continues to bowl without problems. But the England Cricket Board said it would be announced later in which match he would find the field.
Former Rajasthan Royals and England all-rounder Ben Stokes suffered a finger injury while fielding in the first match against Punjab Kings, which has caused problems for the Rajasthan team as Ben Stokes has now returned to England and will not be playing in the IPL.
The Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, are already struggling in both bowling and batting. As a result, Rajasthan have played 4 matches, have been relegated to the bottom of the table with one win and three defeats.
