    Somalia: President Farmajo Travels to Saudi to Attend Arab-U.S Summit

    MOGADISHU (Somali Update Online) — Somalia's President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has departed to Saudi Arabia on Sunday where he will join the Arab Muslim leaders meeting with U.S President Donald Trump, Somali Update reports.

Late February, President Farmajo visited the oil-rich Kingdom following an invitation from Salam Bin Abdulaziz, the King of Saudi Arabia.
MOGADISHU (Somali Update Online) — Somalia's President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has departed to Saudi Arabia on Sunday where he will join the Arab Muslim leaders meeting with U.S President Donald Trump, Somali Update reports.
Several government ministers including the foreign minister accompanied President Farmajo, as his delegation will be part of the Muslim leaders attending the high level which will attract at least 55 leaders.
President Farmajo’s visit to Saudi Arabia becomes the second since his election in February. Late February, President Farmajo visited the oil-rich Kingdom following an invitation from Salam Bin Abdulaziz, the King of Saudi Arabia.
According to the official schedule of the President, Mr. Farmajo is supposed to meet U.S President Donald Trump.
The two men will discuss several issues, among them the security support by the U.S Special Forces to the Somali National Army and the ongoing efforts to defeat the terror group Al-Shabab in Somalia.
Currently U.S maintains a dozen of Special Forces based in Somalia soil and are operating alongside the Somali forces after Trump restricted limitations on the operations of the U.S forces.
