On June 26, 2024, New York State Senator Sean Ryan and Assemblymember Karen McMahon announced their partnership with Kaleida Health to present the 2024 Family Health Fair. This annual event will take place on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Amherst Center for Senior Services. Western New Yorkers of all ages are invited to attend this free event.
Over 70 Organizations Offering Health and Wellness Services
The 2024 Family Health Fair will feature more than 70 organizations providing a wide range of free health and wellness-focused services. Attendees can take advantage of various health screenings, vaccinations offered by Tops Pharmacy, and a prescription disposal service. Kaleida Health, as a co-sponsor, will provide valuable healthcare informational resources along with free blood and cholesterol screenings.
CPR Training, Bike Helmets, and More
The American Red Cross will offer free CPR training sessions at 10 a.m., 10:45 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. Additionally, they will host a blood drive throughout the event. Donors are encouraged to make appointments by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org (search for “AmherstSr”). Donors will receive a Red Cross branded giveaway.
Senator Ryan will collaborate with GObike to distribute free bike helmets to both children and adults while supplies last. The event will also include activities for all ages, such as an art project hosted by the Burchfield Penney Art Center and a visit from the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library’s “Library on Wheels” bookmobile.
Other featured organizations at the 2024 Family Health Fair include Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Ross Eye Institute, and Windsong Radiology.
