Sharon Stone isn’t letting age define her. At 66, the legendary actress is leaning into the natural shifts that come with time, embracing her evolving body, and keeping her sense of humor intact.
“You Still Have to Love That Body”
Stone has always been known for her striking beauty, but she’s not one to chase youth at all costs. In a candid interview with The Times, she spoke about how many people let go of their bodies as they get older, but she refuses to do the same.
“A lot of people give up as they get older,” she said. “They let go of their body because it’s collapsing anyway, or it’s like, ‘I’m not defined by my body anymore.’ But you still have to love that body.”
For Stone, it’s not about clinging to the past but about nurturing herself through each phase of life.
“My Underarms Have Pleats Now”
Aging brings inevitable changes, and Stone isn’t shy about acknowledging them. Best known for Basic Instinct and Casino, the actress joked about one of the more unexpected transformations she’s noticed.
“My underarms have pleats now,” she quipped.
Rather than seeing it as a flaw, she’s reframing it with a new perspective. “I think, ‘Well, I had beautiful arms and now they’re strong and painting… and like angel wings.’ So what if they have pleats? Maybe that’s what makes them wonderful now.”
This ability to find beauty in change is part of what makes Stone’s approach to aging so refreshing.
Lessons From Jackie Collins: “Never Get on Top After 40”
Stone also shared a memorable piece of advice she received from the late Jackie Collins, the bestselling novelist and actress. Collins had a particular perspective on aging, and she didn’t hold back.
“After 40, never get on top (during sex) and never wave goodbye,” Stone recalled.
While it’s unclear whether she’s taken that advice to heart, Stone has never been one to shy away from bold statements—or a good laugh.
No Patience for Ageism
Stone has spoken out before about the stigma surrounding aging, and she’s not afraid to call out those who fear growing older.
In January 2024, she criticized this mindset, calling it both “stupid and ungrateful.”
“I like being alive and healthy,” she said in another interview with The Times. “And I think that we should all be super-thrilled to make it. Because I’ve witnessed any number of people not making it.”
Her perspective isn’t just talk—she’s living proof of it. Stone frequently posts swimsuit and lingerie photos on social media, reminding the world that confidence doesn’t expire with age.
Dumped Over Botox
Stone has been open about her changing relationship with beauty treatments. In 2022, she revealed she had stopped using Botox and, as a result, was dumped by a younger man.
At one point, she admitted to being a fan of cosmetic procedures. But after a health scare, her views changed. “It was like a massive, painful neurological reaction,” she said of a past Botox experience. Now, she embraces her face as it is, even if it comes with a cost in the dating world.
A Safe for Basic Instinct and a Closet Full of Cashmere
Stone also revealed a few more personal details in her latest interview. The iconic white dress from Basic Instinct? Locked away in a safe.
And when it comes to fashion, she has one clear weakness—cashmere. “I’m a cashmere-aholic,” she admitted, revealing that she’s collected 65 cashmere sweaters over the past 40 years.
Despite her love for luxury fabrics, she doesn’t take fashion too seriously. “I have no fashion regrets,” she said. “Because I have a sense of humor. Frankly, sometimes I wore things just to be funny.”
Stone’s blend of confidence, humor, and self-acceptance makes her a rare presence in Hollywood, where the pressure to stay young can be relentless. For her, aging isn’t something to fear—it’s something to embrace.
